Zingage runs the agency behind the phone line. Alita answers new families and job applicants on every channel. Where each one fits.

Co-Founder & CPO
Zingage is an AI operations platform for agencies, while Alita runs intake and hiring conversations across web chat, phone, SMS, social and job posts. Invoca's 2026 senior care benchmarks found 53% of calls across senior care are answered by a person.
What Do Alita and Zingage Each Actually Ship?
Zingage and Alita both put AI agents in front of a care organization's phone and inbox, but they aim at different jobs. As of October 2026, Zingage sells an operations platform for agencies: Riley answers calls, Casey fills shifts and Perform supports caregiver retention. Alita sells conversational agents that handle new client intake and caregiver hiring across web chat, phone, SMS, social and job-post links.
Start with Zingage on its own terms. Its home page describes Riley Receptionist as an AI front desk that answers every call, routes urgent ones and looks up patient information in your EMR. Casey Coordinator fills call-outs, confirms visits and matches caregivers to open shifts, and Perform handles recognition, surveys, rewards and retention alerts for the caregivers you already employ. The customers it names are home care agencies, and Perform is also offered through WellSky as TeamEngage.
Both products exist because the labor math is hard. The Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook projects employment of home health and personal care aides to grow 18% from 2025 to 2035, with about 760,500 openings for home health and personal care aides projected each year, on average, over the decade. Zingage's answer is to squeeze more coverage out of the team you have. Alita's answer is to grow that team and fill the client pipeline that keeps it busy.
They're complementary bets, not identical ones, and the rest of this comparison follows from that split. Where Zingage is stronger, we say so. Every capability below reflects what each vendor publishes about its own product, and we didn't test Zingage for this article.
How Do Alita and Zingage Compare on Client Intake?
Intake is where the two products overlap most. Zingage's platform page in 2026 lists intake and lead capture among Riley's phone duties, so a new client call reaches an AI receptionist instead of voicemail. Alita's intake agents run that first conversation on the phone, on web chat, by text and on social, qualify care needs and fit, and book the assessment or call on the spot.
Here's the grid, built from each company's own site. It covers both jobs and daily operations, not intake alone:
Capability | Alita | Zingage | Why it decides the buy |
|---|---|---|---|
Answering new client calls | Yes, voice agents | Yes, Riley Receptionist | Both pick up when the office cannot |
Qualifying the inquiry | Agent asks care, timing and fit questions | Riley captures leads and intake details | Who sorts a ready family from a browser |
Website chat for families | Yes | Not described | Families who type instead of dial |
Recruiting new caregivers | Screens applicants and books interviews | Not described; Perform retains current staff | Growing headcount versus keeping it |
Facebook Messenger and Instagram | Yes | Not described | Reaches people who never call |
Link agents on job posts and ads | Yes | Not described | Catches applicants at the post itself |
Shift scheduling and call-out coverage | Not offered | Yes, Casey Coordinator | A clear Zingage strength for daily operations |
Caregiver engagement and retention | Not offered | Yes, Perform | A Zingage strength once people are hired |
EMR updates | Hub dashboard plus handoff to your team | Real-time EMR updates described | Matters if your scheduler lives in the EMR |
Answering the phone at all is a bigger edge than it sounds. In a JAMA Network Open secret-shopper study published in May 2026, investigators posing as a granddaughter seeking home care for a grandfather with Medicaid reached 169 of 331 randomly selected New York licensed home care agencies, a 51.1% response rate after up to 3 call attempts. Of the New York home care agencies reached, 44.4% said it would take over 7 days from insurance verification to the initial nursing evaluation. You can read the full method in JAMA Network Open's study of home care access.
Picture a daughter calling three agencies on a Saturday morning about care for her father after a hospital stay. The first rings out. The second answers, takes her number and promises a call on Monday. The third answers, asks how many hours of help he needs, whether he needs help bathing, and which days work for an assessment, then books one before she hangs up. She doesn't wait for Monday.
That scenario is the difference this comparison turns on. Both Riley and Alita close the first gap: the call gets answered. The second gap, the days between a first call and a booked evaluation, is where qualification and scheduling inside the conversation matter. Alita's intake agents end the call with a next step on the calendar, and the same flow runs when a family messages your website at night, which we walk through in how always-on intake works for agencies.

Does Zingage Help You Recruit New Caregivers?
Not according to its own site. In October 2026, Zingage's home page, platform page and comparison pages describe scheduling, shift matching and caregiver retention, but no product that screens job applicants or books interviews. Casey matches your existing staff to open shifts. Alita's hiring agents work the other end: they answer applicants, ask the screening questions and schedule the interview.
That gap matters because many applicants are prepared to walk away. In 2023, Indeed found 62% of job seekers said they plan to ghost during future job searches, in its Ghosting in Hiring report, a survey of job seekers across the U.S., U.K. and Canada who had ghosted an employer before. A caregiver who applies on a Sunday evening and hears nothing until Tuesday has plenty of time to accept another offer.
Alita's hiring agents reply in the first minutes, on the careers page, by text, on Messenger and from link agents on Indeed posts and ads. They check availability, certifications and location, then put the interview on a recruiter's calendar, which is the flow behind turning Indeed clicks into caregiver interviews. Your recruiter meets a screened candidate instead of chasing a name in an inbox.
Retention and recruiting are both real work, and Zingage's focus on keeping caregivers is a reasonable one. It simply doesn't replace the step where a stranger becomes a new hire.
How Do Riley and Alita's Voice Agents Compare on the Phone?
On the phone the two products are closest. Zingage's Riley answers inbound calls around the clock in English and Spanish, routes emergencies, handles family updates and looks up patient information in your EMR. Alita's voice agents in 2026 focus on the prospective side of the line: a family asking about care, or an applicant asking about a job, qualified and booked during the call.
The industry baseline shows why either is better than an unanswered line. Invoca's Senior Care Lead Conversion Benchmarks Report 2026 found 53% of calls across senior care are answered by a person, with all figures averaged across Invoca's customer base in in-home care and senior living. Invoca also reports that 29% of calls answered by a person are leads, and 41% of those leads convert on the call.
Put the JAMA and Invoca findings side by side and a pattern appears: in two very different datasets, a caller reaching a person is far from guaranteed, and only a minority of answered calls are new business. Riley is built around the whole call volume of a running agency, including call-outs and family updates. Alita's voice agents are built around converting the new-business share into a booked next step.
Which Channels Does Each Product Answer On?
Channel coverage is the widest gap between the two as of October 2026. Zingage's platform materials describe inbound and outbound calls, plus Casey calling or texting caregivers about open shifts, but not website chat, Facebook Messenger, Instagram or job-post links. Alita answers on website chat, phone, SMS, Messenger, Instagram and link agents, with one set of qualification rules across all of them.
That reading comes from Zingage's platform page, which lists inbound calls, outbound caregiver outreach, recorded and transcribed calls, and lead and intake capture under phone and communications. The texting it describes is aimed at your current caregivers, not at families or applicants. The people Alita's agents talk to are on those other channels. Pew Research Center's Social Media fact sheet, from a 2025 survey, reports that 74% of U.S. adults ages 50 to 64 say they ever use Facebook, and 62% of U.S. adults ages 30 to 49 say they ever use Instagram. Adult children arranging care for a parent, and many working caregivers, sit in those age bands.
Phones carry the rest, and not only for calls. Pew's Mobile Technology fact sheet from the same 2025 survey found 90% of U.S. adults ages 50 to 64 own a smartphone. A daughter comparing agencies on her phone at lunch may text or tap a Messenger button long before she calls. We cover that recruiting side in whether Instagram and Messenger help you recruit caregivers faster.
How Do You Choose Between Alita and Zingage?
In 2026, choose by the problem that costs you the most, not by feature count. Zingage fits an agency whose pain is daily operations: call-outs at dawn, open shifts, EVV and caregiver retention. Alita fits an organization whose pain is the front of the funnel: new families and new applicants who reach out on many channels and need a fast, qualified answer and a booked next step.
Retention is a fair reason to look at Zingage. Activated Insights' 2025 Benchmarking Report found turnover rates in the home-based care industry dropping to 75%, the lowest level reported in the past five years. Even at that level, turnover stays high enough that retention alone rarely closes the gap.
A short checklist settles most cases:
List your last month of missed work. If it is mostly unfilled shifts and call-outs, Zingage's Casey targets that directly.
Count the new client inquiries and job applicants nobody answered within the hour, across phone, web, text and social. If that number is material, you need an agent that answers on every one of those channels.
Look at your hiring funnel. If applicants stall between applying and a first interview, Alita's screening and interview booking addresses that stall; Zingage doesn't describe a product for it.
Check your systems. Zingage describes real-time EMR updates and a WellSky option for Perform, which helps if your schedulers live in the EMR.
Some agencies will run both: Zingage running the schedule and the caregivers you already have, Alita bringing in new clients and new hires. The Hub keeps every Alita conversation in one place for your team. Summary
Zingage and Alita both answer the phone with AI, but Zingage is an operations platform for agencies while Alita is a set of agents for intake and hiring across channels. Zingage is stronger on scheduling, call-out coverage, caregiver retention and EMR updates, and Riley does capture new client calls. Alita is stronger wherever a new family or applicant reaches out off the phone, and it's the only one of the two whose published materials describe screening and booking new caregiver candidates. Start with the problem that costs you most, and many agencies will find room for both.
